How recipients download your files

Receiving files through HeftySend is straightforward and requires no account or setup from the recipient.

The recipient journey

Here is the full experience from the moment someone receives your link:

  1. They click the link you shared
  2. If you added a password, they see a password entry screen first
  3. After entering the correct password (or if there is no password), the download page loads
  4. They see a list of all the files in the transfer
  5. They click the download button next to each file they want, or use "Download All" to get everything at once

Recipients never need a HeftySend account. No sign up, no installation, nothing. Just click and download.

Downloading individual files

Each file on the download page has its own download button. Recipients can pick and choose which files they need.

Downloading everything at once

The "Download All" button packages all files into a ZIP archive and downloads it in one go. For more detail, see Downloading all files as a ZIP.

Previewing files without downloading

Some file types such as images, videos, PDFs, and audio can be previewed directly in the browser without downloading anything. See Viewing files online without downloading for the full list.

If the link shows an error or says the transfer has expired, the recipient should contact the sender. For more help, see My download link has expired.
