What happens when your plan expires

If your paid subscription ends — either because it was not renewed or because it was cancelled — your account moves back to the free plan. Here is what that means in practice.

What changes when you move to the free plan

When your paid plan expires, the following applies going forward:

  • New transfers can only be set to a maximum of 3 days expiry
  • Files larger than 20 GB cannot be uploaded
  • HeftySend branding will appear on new download pages again
  • Custom storage settings are no longer active for new transfers

What happens to existing transfers

Transfers that were created while you were on a paid plan are not immediately affected. If those transfers still have active expiry dates, they will remain accessible until they expire on their own schedule.

Transfers created with "no expiry" under an Ultra or Lifetime plan will be affected once a plan expires. Check your account for details on which transfers may be impacted.

Grace period

There is a short grace period after your plan expires before restrictions are applied. This gives you time to renew without any immediate disruption.

How to renew

You can re-upgrade at any time from your account page or the pricing page. Your features are restored immediately after payment is confirmed.

For step-by-step instructions, see How to upgrade your plan.
